A transparent model of what StromaOS is worth in your evidence operation - seven value categories, conservative defaults, every calculation open to change. If your number comes out lower than the example, that's informative. If it comes out higher, we should probably talk.
Each category maps to a specific architectural property of StromaOS - and to a goal on your maturity radar. You see every category's contribution separately, and a first-year gross value at the end. Every default is editable; every line shows its work.
Defaults describe a mid-size biopharma running roughly 20 studies a year. Adjust any input to match yours; the panel updates live. Switch between an operational view (grounded, run-rate savings) and an executive view (adds strategic, first-year value).
This calculator shows gross first-year value and does not subtract StromaOS licensing. That's on purpose: anchoring on a price before the value is established is the wrong order, and an ROI multiple computed against placeholder pricing helps no one. StromaOS bills for governed execution in the domains where work actually runs - building is free, standby drops to a floor, and idle costs next to nothing - so your run cost tracks the value you just sized, not a fixed retainer. When you're ready to put the two side by side, the TCO calculator compares the run cost against the bundled data-plus-services model.
A visible formula is not the same as a sourced one. Each default is labeled with its basis, so you can decide which to keep and which to replace before you take the output to a finance team.
Every value is editable in the calculator above. Defaults are set low deliberately - we would rather you argue them up than have them argued down.
| Assumption | Default | Basis | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Annual analyst and services spend | $950,000 | Analyst headcount plus contracted overflow on addressable work for a mid-size evidence function. The largest single driver. Replace it with your own contracted figure first. | Internal estimate |
| Share a governed Fleet can execute | 55% | The portion of that spend covering work a Fleet can perform end to end rather than assist with.Deliberately below our own expectation. It is the assumption most worth testing against your own task mix. | Internal estimate |
| Studies per year | 20 | Sizes a mid-size program. Scales everything downstream. | Illustrative |
| Setup hours rebuilt per study | 40 hrs | Cohort setup, covariate sets and exclusion rationale re-derived rather than reused. | Internal estimate |
| Share the platform lets you reuse | 50% | Portion of that setup carried forward as retained knowledge instead of rebuilt. | Internal estimate |
| Loaded analyst rate | $95/hr | Fully loaded internal cost, not a contract rate.Use your own loaded rate; it varies widely by geography and function. | Illustrative |
| Weeks pulled forward | 6 weeks | Acceleration on a strategic deliverable when analysis is not queued behind capacity.Highly program-specific. Test it against your last two filings before relying on it. | Internal estimate |
| Value of a week earlier | $50,000 | Stand-in for access timing, comparator position or delay cost on the programs a deliverable sits on.This is the assumption a CFO will challenge first, and the one only you can supply. | Illustrative |
| Re-ingest cost per licensed source | $30,000 | Annual cost to re-ingest and normalize a source you already license. | Internal estimate |
| Compliance and audit inputsCycles, hours saved, loaded rate, validation project, FTE avoided | varies | Cycle counts and effort per cycle for audit, inspection and response work. All editable; none are drawn from a published benchmark. | Internal estimate |
| Displaced tooling linesGovernance, drift/QC, audit assembly, integration | varies | Point-tool spend the platform is designed to consolidate. | Internal estimate |
The maturity assessment shows where the gaps are, this sizes what closing them is worth, and the TCO calculator shows the run cost against a bundled platform. Three views of the same decision.
